A name people recognise
Anyone who has searched for what a .crdownload file is already knows the situation: a download that stopped, a file that will not open. We chose the word they would see on their own screen.
More than one extension
The tool handles far more than that: .part and .opdownload files, video, audio, images, documents and archives, damaged by any cause, as long as intact data remains.
How it was built
It runs on your device, so your file is never uploaded and we set no limits on its use. The site is free. We say plainly what it cannot do, because someone worried about a file deserves an accurate answer.
Common questions
Is Crdownload related to Google Chrome?
No. It is an independent tool; the name refers to the file extension.
Does it only work with .crdownload files?
No. It accepts most damaged files.
