Terms of use

What the site is

A free tool. It works on the bytes of the file you choose and downloads nothing from elsewhere. No result is guaranteed: part of the content may be missing, or nothing usable may be found.

What we mean by rebuilding

Rebuilding means writing a new file from the data still present in the one you choose, with a coherent structure so it can open. It does not bring back missing data and does not return the file to its original state. Damaged passages are removed and nothing is invented, so the result may be shorter or of lower quality, and may not open in every program.

Limits of the service

The tool works only on the file you choose, in your browser and within your device's memory. It cannot download the file again, reach its original source or decrypt protected content. It is not a professional data recovery service: do not rely on it alone for irreplaceable, medical, legal or financial files.

Not affiliated with Google or Chrome

Crdownload is an independent tool named after the .crdownload file extension. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Google LLC or any browser maker. Google and Chrome are trademarks of Google LLC.

What is not allowed

Using the tool on files you have no right to use, or interfering with the site.

Provided as it is

Keep your original file. The tool is provided as it is, and our liability is capped at USD 100. None of this limits what the law does not allow to be limited. Whoever causes a claim answers for it.

To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, and we are not liable for lost data or for indirect or consequential damages.
